October Fishing report

Mike Sal and son Andrew come down and fish with me for the last 6  years.  This time in Oct. a great month to fish the  Sanibel Captiva area. We have many different fish to target this time of year. This trip with the tide low and waiting on water to come in we went for pompano. Hooked many  and only landed  one. Other fish were in the mix as well. Spanish mac, blue fish, jacks, and more.  We then headed for some red fish. As we went onto the flat I spotted some fish we stoped and tried for 30 min and they showed no interest. We moved to another spot and non stop redfish bite.  Andrews big one was 32″ .

October Sanibel Island Report

We Started from Pine Island on Sat. Fishing with Bill and Allen from W Palm Beach over looking to get some time off work. We started our morning off of Sanibel Island and tried for red fish and snook on a low tide oyster bar. The tide was not moving at all and we saw several redfish in the schools of mullet. They didnt want our bait. We  moved to another location where Bill wanted to wade. He took some live bait and and landed some nice big  trout. With the tide comming in now we moved to another location by Captiva  and saw more fish and the tide began to really  move. Bill  had the first red fish on and the line went across the oyster bar and cut us off.  Soon after Allen had one on nice 27 inch  Red… his first redfish not bad. Fun with reds and trout.

Sanibel time on the water

I fished with Charlie and Sue from Chicago today.  We started around Pine Island and fished  around birds going crazy after bait. We had hits on every cast. After a hour and a half we went towards Sanibel island to hunt for redfish and snook. Sue who was casting artificial switched to live bait with Charlie. Her line took off with the drag screaming. I lifted the power pole anchor and the fish pulled us around for several minutes with the rod bent over. Sue lands a nice 33 inch healthy red fish along with a big mix of other fish. We were cut off around a oyster bar several times.  Busy day catching today. Come and get some.
